Jim Steinman (the melodramatic writer behind Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell) is the author of many of the tracks here, and they have his typical rock & roll Sturm und Drang, especially when the backup group consists of members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Also on hand are The Blasters, Maria McKee, and Ry Cooder. The album's hit single turned out to be Dan Hartman's "I Can Dream about You".

Thirty five years on since their debut album The Angels are still full of pep and Take It to the Streets sounds full of enthusiasm as if it was recorded by some highly inspired newcomers. “To the Streets” opening the album is pure classical hard rock that would appear modern in all times and this may be said about the whole collection…

Back in the ’80s, before a little thing called the World Wide Web came along, we got our metal news from magazines like Circus and Hit Parader. In a pathetic attempt to be hip and now amongst my fellow teenage metalhead pals, I was always on the lookout for any obscure band that got a decent review in those rags. One such band in 1985 was a British act called Shy. I’ll be honest: Brave the Storm was probably the worst album I bought based on these old reviews. The songs were bad, it was dated and sounded old a week after I bought it, and the vocals by one Tony Mills were screechingly awful. Think the worst performances of Geoff Tate. I quickly archived the album (threw it in the back of my closet), and from then on I paid no attention to the band nor its members.

"The Decline ! are a five piece punk-rock band born in 2009 around Rennes, Brittany, Western France. Some say they sound punk-rock, some say they sound rocknroll and some even say they sound punk-folk. Maybe But lets get it simple : they just play anthems that will make you sing along, shed a tear, start a revolution, or kiss your lover. And sometimes the will make you wanna do it all at the same time. They have played so far hundreds of gigs all over Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, England, Ireland) with bands such as Jello Biafra, Anti Flag, Sucidal Tendencies, Toy Dolls , Street Dogs, Roger Miret And the Disaster, The Dwarves . They will hit the road again on the occasion of the release of their 3rd LP :''Heroes on empty Streets"

Blood From The Streets Of New Haven is a Connecticut compilation released by a small label from the state called Caffeine Disk. Released in 1992, it features some powerful alternative/indie rock bands, some of which were known for other projects before this. There's even a nice rap song here by Blind Justice. A little known collection but one I like.

The title track on Streets of Laredo’s new album, WILD, essentially sums up their attitude since starting the band in Auckland almost five years ago. It’s a gorgeous, soul-stirring ballad with a haunting trumpet line, buttery harmonies, and a chorus that goes: “They call us wild / Let’s show them wild.” Indeed there is a newfound confidence running throughout WILD - from the title track and “99.9%” to the eerily catchy “Silly Bones” and a sweet, lilting tune called “Doesn’t Even Bother Me,” which Sarahjane describes as “this beautiful sentiment about not feeling like you need to be in the mix all the time in NYC, but finding a way to live a happy, normal life with your family.” She continues: “We have an ideal situation, where we can do this and it doesn’t take us away from each other. When we tour and play it feels like we’re living a good life together and fulfilling our dreams. The trick is remembering to find the magic in the moment.”
