This second album by Equally Stupid sees the same transnational crew of three gents working in the same vein as their first Exploding Head, blending Rögnvaldsson's astringent guitar with saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen's this time more mellow tenor. David Meier is still holding things together with a strong physicality behind the drums, but from the cover onwards there's obviously a major change of style.

This is an LP reissue of a set that was originally titled Pre Bird because it features some of the advanced originals that Charles Mingus wrote prior to hearing Charlie Parker. The bassist leads an undisciplined but colorful 25-piece orchestra on three titles including an Eric Dolphy feature on "Bemonable Lady" while the other five tracks are by a ten-piece (including two pianos) band; Lorraine Cousins sings "Eclipse" and "Weird Nightmare." It's an interesting set of typically unconventional music by Mingus.
El Reloj – El Reloj II (1976) Acid Nightmare Records/ANM013 – FR Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

El Reloj – El Reloj II
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 900mb & 200mb
Label: Acid Nightmare Records/ANM013 | Release: 1976 | This Issue: 2015 | Genre: Hard-Progressive

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection
One of South America’s better groups, El Reloj had an all too brief recording 70’s career and just two albums, their debut being in a much harder rock vein in the Purple line. This one is much proggier and is in my top ten South American records. Just like its predecessor’s reissue, the album starts out with bonus tracks (which I always found rather unsettling and non-respectful of the album itself. Fortunately this occurrence is rare enough in prog (I can only think of Germany’s Parzival with an even stranger set up where bonus tracks bookend the album tracks.
Cat Stevens – Numbers (1975) A&M Records/SP 4555 – Original US Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

Mastered By Bernie Grundman
Label: A&M Records/SP 4555 | Release: 1975 | Genre: Folk-Rock

Things aren’t going well for Cat Stevens on the planet, ah, polyethylene. Critics keep asking: would you buy a used I Ching from this man? Since Tea for the Tillerman, affirmation has been doubtful. Never a deep thinker and rarely a master of words, Stevens has now turned to the “majik” of numerology, only to have the melodies disappear down the decimal point. In fact, “Call Me Zero” would have been a perfect title for Numbers, an album so breathtakingly stupid that even the most loyal fan could count its merits without using any of the fingers on either hand.

NIGHTMARE combine their classic heavy / power metal roots with some contemporary elements and show that they are living in the now. In direct comparison with the previous album "Insurrection" (2009), an increase is observed in symphonic elements, so that sometimes the memories of 2001's comeback album "Cosmovision” to be awake. "The big difference is," laughs bassist Yves Campion, "that on "The Burden Of God" we have a much better sound." …

In September 2009 Nightmare released their seventh album, Insurrection, with AFM Records. This album, heavier and more direct than its predecessors, earned the group many good reviews from press and fans. On 31 October 2009 the band held a concert for their 30th anniversary at the Edmond Vigne Hall in Grenoble, where the group originated. The concert was filmed for a DVD - "One Night Of Insurrection" released in 2011.

Real Heavy Metal, honest and true; there are not many art forms on this earth that exist with such a level of purity. Starting with the giants in the 80's who fathered Heavy, Thrash and Power Metal, there are a select few who continue to purvey the very core of the music that all musicians know and love. USA's THUNDER TRIBE are one of these bands, thrashing out classic Metal in the vein of IRON MAIDEN and DIO. "War Chant" marks the band's debut recording of original material, and what a better way to paint a new picture of the old ways?

Genetic Disorder is the third album by the French power metaller band Nightmare. The vocals in some of the choruses and verses really have a Maiden or Dio feel. Queen of Love and Pain has that old school "rockin'" Dio, traditional metal sound. Then tracks like Winds of Sin (maybe the best track) is pure speed metal.

Fans of power metal desperate enough for a new fix to avoid being too picky will want to seek out this French band, originally formed in 1979 (!) and reactivated since '99. "The Dominion Gate", their American debut, is chock-full of choir-backed choruses, muscular power metal riffing, tough but melodic lead vocals, and epic tales.
