A monster – and one of the best jazz funk albums ever on Prestige! Rusty Bryant blows his top off on this one – taking his tenor stylings out of the more staid R&B mode of earlier years, working with some younger heavy funk jazz players to craft a brilliant album of long searing tunes that's forever been one of the must-haves of the early 70s jazz funk scene! Idris Muhammad's on drums, Wilbert Longmire's on guitar, and the organ work is split between Leon Spencer and Bill Mason, both monstrously great talents, with a propensity for open-stopped hard-wailing playing! Titles include "Fire Eater", "The Hooker", "Mister S", and "Free At Last".

Rusty Bryant, a veteran R&B sax player, was somewhat forgotten at the time of his debut Prestige album, but due to the commercial success of this recording, Bryant would record seven more sessions for Prestige during the next five years.

One of the hardest, heaviest albums that Ray Bryant ever cut – even on the ballads – a monster little record that grabs you from the very first note! Ray did the arrangements for this one himself – working with his core trio that featured Ron Carter on bass and Grady Tate on drums, and adding in a twin-trumpet frontline that cooks the groove over the top with a really righteous sound!

Due to the strong lineup and the basic but perfectly suitable material, this Jimmy McGriff CD is well worth picking up. The groovin' organist teams up with David "Fathead" Newman (heard on alto, tenor and flute), Rusty Bryant (doubling on tenor and alto), either Mel Brown or Wayne Boyd on guitar, and drummer Bernard "Pretty" Purdie. Basic originals alternate with such standbys as "I'm Getting Sentimental over You" and "Georgia on My Mind," with everyone playing up to their potential. A fun and swinging session.

Monstrous licks, techniques and concepts for the modern rock guitarist The human eye can only process 10 to 12 separate images per second. That's why some sights can only be fully appreciated in slow motion like that viral close-up video of an eagle flying towards the viewer – incredible harmony of motion. How 'fast' we process sound, specifically music, is a different matter all together. Over time, your ear can be trained to hear, process and appreciate the underlying harmony and nuances of music performed at blazingly-fast speeds while the untrained ear will only hear blazingly-fast note sequences.

A sette anni si calava dal balcone della villetta dove viveva per correre verso il campetto all'aperto dei padri Stimmatini di Rieti. A nove costruiva canestri improvvisati in un parcheggio di Pistoia. A undici andava a scuola dalle suore a Reggio Emilia e giocava a biliardino.
