Karrin Allyson (pronounced KAH-rin; born Karrin Allyson Schoonover on July 27, 1963 in Great Bend, Kansas) is an American jazz vocalist. She has been nominated for five Grammy Awards, and has received positive reviews from several prominent sources, including the New York Times, which has called her a "singer with a feline touch and impeccable intonation." Karrin Allyson was born in Great Bend, Kansas; her father was a Lutheran minister and her mother was a psychotherapist, teacher and classical pianist. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and spent her last year of high school in San Francisco. In her youth she studied classical piano, sang at her local church and in musical theatre, and also began songwriting.

Founded by Scott Heller aka Dr. Space (synth, management) in 2004 Oresund Space Collective are a multinational crew which get together as often as possible to play free form improvised space rock music. It also includes some songs recorded at the same venue the previous night. It was produced as a limited edition of 16,500 copies, and is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2017. As a special treat for our Dave's Picks 2017 Subscribers, the 2017 Bonus Disc will feature the bulk of the rest of this 12/6/71 show, giving you two nearly-complete shows from one of the most requested and sought-after runs in Grateful Dead history.

Nonesuch Records releases Michael Daves's two-album set, Orchids and Violence, on February 26, 2016. Both discs are produced by Daves and have identical track listing of mostly traditional bluegrass songs. The first features straightforward interpretations of them and was recorded live to tape in a 19th-century church by Daves and a band of roots-music innovators: bassist Mike Bub, violinist Brittany Haas, mandolinist Sarah Jarosz, and banjo player and Punch Brother Noam Pikelny.

On the brink of their revelatory Europe '72 tour, the Grateful Dead brought their sevenfold merriment to winter-worn Manhattan and boy, did they warm things up! Particularly on March 26 when the dual piano/Hammond combo of Godchaux and McKernan was in full effect and Alabama singer Donna Jean Godchaux began to find her vocal footing in the band's rich harmonies.
