Renaissance – Novella (1977) Warner Bros. Records/K56422 – 1st UK Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz - NEW 2017 RIP!

Renaissance ‎- Novella
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 800mb & 200mb
Label: Warner Bros. Records/K56422 | Released: 1977 | Genre: Symphonic-Rock

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music
5 stars (I had to change 4* into 5 as soon as I became collaborator. This IS one of my favourites and sure it deserves the highest rate!) I have seen that most fans don’t rate Novella very high and I have always felt sad about it. It is somehow very introvert album and it calls for true dedication from the listener. I can understand that it may feel ‘boring’ to casual listener who expects more dynamic approach. But this is the most artistic of their albums.

Soundtrack – Barry Lyndon (1975) Warner Bros. Records/BS 2903 – Original US Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

Various – Music From The Soundtrack Of Barry Lyndon
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 800mb & 200mb
Label: Warner Bros. Records/BS 2903 | Released: 1975 | Genre: Soundtrack

While not the entire score, which would be impossible to assemble on a double let along a single disc, the music contained herein from Stanley Kubrick’s stellar motion picture Barry Lyndon — that starred Ryan O’Neal in the only time he ever actually acted, as well as Marisa Berenson — is a mixed bag of the most delightful sort. With 19 selections on the CD — analogue recorded and remastered in pristine digital sound — the music here stands on its own as an eclectic yet moving collection of pieces that reflect the excesses of 17th and early 18th century cultural mores in royal courts, potato fields, and back alley dances. The main title theme is from Handel, his Sarabande, and is followed by Sean Ó Riada’s gloriously beautiful “Women of Ireland,” performed by the Chieftains, who dig in for a few more before being eased out of the mix by the British Grenadiers’ fife and drum corps.
The Grateful Dead – Anthem Of The Sun (1968) Warner Bros. Records/WS 1749 – US Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

The Grateful Dead – Anthem Of The Sun
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 800mb & 200mb
Label: Warner Bros. Records/WS 1749| Released: 1968 | This Issue: 1978 | Genre: Psychedelic-Rock

On the Grateful Dead’s Anthem of the Sun the studio with its production work dissolves into live performance, the carefully crafted is thrown together with the casually tossed off, and the results are spliced together. The end product is one of the finest albums to come out of San Francisco, a personal statement of the rock aesthetic on a level with the Jefferson Airplane’s After Bathing at Baxters. To be sure, the album has its weak points, but as a total work it is remarkably successful, especially when compared to the first Dead album.
The Grateful Dead – Aoxomoxoa (1969) Warner Bros. – Seven Arts Records/WS 1790 – US Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz

The Grateful Dead – Aoxomoxoa
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC + cue | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz | 800mb & 200mb
Label: Warner Bros. – Seven Arts Records/WS 1790 | Released: 1969 | This Issue: 1979 | Genre: Psychedelic-Folk

Aoxomoxoa is the work of the magical band. Can you hear this music and not see them before your eyes? The music is so much the reality of their physical and spiritual bodies that seeing them is the wonder of seeing music.

Fair Warning was such a dark, intense record that Van Halen almost had no choice but to lighten up on their next album, and 1982's Diver Down is indeed much lighter than its predecessor…

Of all the early Van Halen records, Fair Warning often gets overlooked – partially because it's a dark, strange beast, partially because it lacks any song as purely fun as the hits from the first three records. Because of that, there were no hits from Fair Warning that turned into radio anthems; only "Unchained" and, to a lesser extent, the grinding opener, "Mean Street," rank among the group's best-known songs, and they're not as monumental as "And the Cradle Will Rock," from the preceding album, Women and Children First…

After two pure party albums, the inevitable had to happen: it was time for Van Halen to mature, or at least get a little serious. And so, Women and Children First, a record where the group started to get heavier, both sonically and, to a lesser extent, thematically, changing the feel of the band ever so slightly…
