Atlanta Rhythm Section, sometimes abbreviated ARS, is an American southern rock band, formed in Doraville, Georgia, a small town northeast of Atlanta, in 1970. Though they didn't reach the commercial success of Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Allman Brothers, the group had a strong following in the South and charted a number of hits. These include their two top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, "So Into You" and "Imaginary Lover".

A separate entity from the Ian Gillan Band and distinct from Ian Gillan the solo artist, Gillan was a band bearing the ex-Deep Purple frontman's name which provided an outlet for his straight-ahead hard rock inclinations (as opposed to the prog rock tendencies of the Ian Gillan Band or Ian Gillan's more polished solo material of the 1990s). Gillan the singer put the band together in 1978, initially recruiting Steve Byrd (guitar), John McCoy (bass), Colin Towns (keyboards, ex-Ian Gillan Band), and Pete Barnacle (drums); this lineup proved short-lived, recording a self-titled Japanese-only album before disintegrating…

Often described as a more radio-friendly version of Lynyrd Skynyrd or the Allman Brothers, the Atlanta Rhythm Section was one of many Southern rock bands to hit the upper reaches of the charts during the late '70s. "With All Due Respect" is their new CD and it may not be brand new material, from the ARS, but its still a great album, especially for "Classic Southern Rock" fans.

Rare vocal beauty is what Randy Crawford possesses along with loads of smoldering passion and deep emotional involvement with the meaning of any song this wonderous singer choses to do! This stunning collection is a great starting point for those beginning a musical journey with one the the greatest singers ever or for those of us already familiar with this classic artist who the more you play the more you fall in love! "Give Me The Night" is a soulfully dreamy opener that flows so beautifully into Randy's athem "Street Life" with The Jazz Crusaders featuring Joe Sample on keyboards which was a huge success for Miss Crawford. "Street Life" was also used in the soundtrack of the Burt Reynold's film "Sharky's Machine" along with great songs by Sarah Vaughan and Peggy Lee and Randy truly shines alongside these legends and makes one realize that this is indeed another legendary singer! "One Hello" is a gorgeous ballad that Randy turns inside out and sings with such passion that I get a rush every time but for those who need more convincing you will go no further than her extraordinary definitive performance of the John Lennon classic "Imagine" that gets a standing ovation ..

The eighth and ninth studio albums (there was a live recording between them) from the Atlanta Rhythm Section got a belated U.K. CD release in 2010. These closed out the act's affiliation with Polydor Records and are condensed onto a single CD here, as well as digitally remastered. It's another in the classy series of ARS reissues from BGO, which has treated the Southern pop act's catalog with utmost respect on four previous discs that bring the group's original albums back in print for collectors and music fans who want more than the 17 hits on Polydor's well-chosen 1982 vintage Best Of. Liner notes from Campbell Devine tend to be fawning but include a comprehensive history of the band, recounting its story leading up to and even after the recording of these tunes. Musically, ARS captured a unique style halfway between the smooth West Coast pop of the late '70s and the Southern rock of the era.

The Best of The Doors is a compilation album by The Doors released in 2000, and is different from the albums of the same name released in 1973 and 1985. The double disc version of the compilation is notable for a remastered track from one of the two post-Morrison albums. The track "No Me Moleste Mosquito" appeared as "The Mosquito" on the 1972 album Full Circle. This was the second acknowledgement of the band's last two (and only post-Morrison) studio albums, since the appearance of "Tightrope Ride", taken from the album Other Voices (1971), on 1997's The Doors: Box Set.

2016 two CD collection of recordings by the former Rolling Stones bassist, both solo and with his Rhythm Kings. With all the tracks chosen by Bill Wyman himself, these two CDs present the perfect introduction to his recordings. Disc One contains songs from Bill's solo albums, kicking off with '(Si Si) Je Suis Un Rock Star', his big hit from 1981, as well as the follow-up hits. Disc Two features songs from Bill's Rhythm Kings, the ten-piece band with revolving guest stars that he put together in the 90s after leaving the Rolling Stones, as well as tracks from Willie And The Poor Boys, Bill's 1985 all-star side-project.
