"Unplugged" is an acoustic live album by Canadian musician Bryan Adams. The album was recorded completely on September 26, 1997 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Recorded by David Hewitt and Bob Clearmountain on the Remote Recording Silver Truck. Notes: This is a "nearly unplugged" performance as it is not all acoustic but it's still a decent performance. Fantastic sound engineering. Great musician and wonderful singer.

On the 19th of August, Placebo performed a unique one-off show for MTV Unplugged at the London Studios in the UK. Here we present the results of this incredible show. The band were encased in spectacular LED box during the performance, from where they belted out some of their most well-loved tracks such as 'The Bitter End' and 'Every You Every Me.' Some new gems were dropped in for good measure, alongside surprise guests Joan As Police Woman and Majke Voss Romme (Broken Twin). No Placebo show would be complete without some signature cover versions and this set did not disappoint, from the breath-taking opener to the show- Sinead O'Connors 'Jackie' to a melancholy version of Pixies 'Where Is My Mind'

At the height of her decade-long rise to fame, Julieta Venegas released her first live album, MTV Unplugged, a star-studded and meticulously arranged performance recorded before 450 adoring fans in Mexico City. She performs her greatest hits, of course, but she also adds to her set list relatively obscure songs – most delightfully "Esta Vez," a ballad from her debut album, Aquí (1998) – and several new songs, including the international chart-topping lead single, "El Presente." As with many MTV Unplugged albums, guest stars are featured throughout; most noteworthy among them here are Spanish rapper Mala Rodríguez, who performs in the place of Chilean rapper Anita Tijoux on "Eres Para Mí," and Brazilian superstar Marisa Monte, who duets in Portuguese on "Ilusión" (a new song written by Venegas, Monte, and Arnaldo Antunes). Guest star or not, the performances are each interesting in their arrangements, which are generally quite different from their studio original counterparts.

The second volume of The Very Best of MTV Unplugged digs a little deeper into the long-running show's archives and manages to pull out a healthy number of unreleased tracks along the way. The Unplugged series always seemed to be a stab at depth for a station that was focused on surface and image above all, and it worked, both for MTV and the artists who appeared on the show. The best moments here are the ones that take the biggest chances, offering different arrangements of songs.

This CD won Grammy Awards in 1995 for Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. Recorded live with Tony Bennett's long-standing accompanists Ralph Sharon on piano, Doug Richeson on bass, and Clayton Cameron on drums, the set includes more than 20 songs, many of them standards Bennett has sung for years, such as "Old Devil Moon", "I Wanna Be Around", "I Left My Heart in San Francisco", "All of You", and "Body and Soul". Guest artists k.d. lang and Elvis Costello appear on, respectively, "Moonglow" and "They Can't Take That Away from Me". It's a joyful romp for Frank Sinatra's favorite singer.

MTV have been producing 'unplugged' specials for many years now with some big name artists such as Kiss, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, R.E.M., Live, Bryan Adams - the list is endless - but sadly they are yet to release the majority of these on DVD. There have been a few, Bryan Adams, Alice in Chains, Bjork, Shakira and even Lauryn Hill have hit the shelves, and now it is the turn of Staind. Although they only have three albums to their credit thus far and a fourth due for release later in 2003, Staind have established a large following in a very short time. Their first album Tormented was produced in 1996 by the band themselves and sold simply by word of mouth.

Recorded with MTV in New York, Florence + the Machine follow in the footsteps of countless musical legends, from Bob Dylan to Nirvana, in releasing their own MTV Unplugged album. The album features acoustic renditions of nine original Florence tracks, along with a couple of covers thrown in for good measure: Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" and a duet of the Johnny Cash/June Carter classic "Jackson" with Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age).
