ESOTERIC RECORDINGS imprint Cocteau Discs, the home of BILL NELSON’s catalogue between 1971 and 2001, continues their series of on-going releases with the newly remastered and expanded release of his 1986 album "GETTING THE HOLY GHOST ACROSS”. Released in 1986, the record was Bill’s sole album for the Portrait label, and was a superbly realised work. Previously released on CD as strictly limited edition of 500 copies on Bill’s Sonolux label, the album is hugely sought after on CD by collectors.
"…An amazing SACD. As interpretations, both of these are in a class of their own, the Franck having strong claims of being the best ever performance of this greatest French late romantic orchestral work. Almost certainly they will never be equalled let alone bettered on SACD." ~SA-CD.net
From now on, the likes of H.E.A.T. or Eclipse, Sweden's finest in terms of Melodic Rock/Hard Rock, do have a serious competitor by the name of Miss Behavior. The new album "Ghost Play", the fourth in the band's history, takes great advantage of new producer Patrik Magnusson (Crash Diet) as well as of the way more dynamic collection of songs which at times are reminiscent of current Europe. Therefore, at the end of the day, there is more classic rock than pure AOR. But keyboards still rule on "Ghost Play". Check out "Friendly Fire", "Savage Heart" and "Save The Word" basically covering the different sounds of the album from uptempo rock to mid tempo groover to a fantastic ballad. That's how melodic rock should sound like!
