Label: Jasmine Records | Release Year: 2016

There have been several CDs of Lula's King and Federal material but there has never been a complete collection. The 30 tracks that Jasmine have gathered here also include six sides released on the Chess subsidiary Argo Records which have rarely been re-issued. So if you own any of the compilations of her work issued in the CD era you will need this CD to complete your collection through to 1962. Features her sought after gospel recordings such as "Heavenly Road" along with the rock and roll favourite "Bump On A Log". Sadly Lula Reed withdrew herself from the music industry in 1964 never to return but this excellent new CD once again shows us what a superb and versatile talent she was.

"Ricominciare da sé" è un viaggio, un cammino nel quale il grande maestro spirituale Osho ci conduce verso la conoscenza profonda di noi stessi e delle chiavi della beatitudine. Un percorso di saggezza e di meditazione che parte dalla testa, passa dal cuore e porta fino all'ombelico, vero centro dell'energia vitale, troppo spesso dimenticato dalla cultura razionalistica occidentale. …

Fans have been waiting a long time for Bo Diddley to get the serious attention and reissue campaign he deserves. What a delight it is to find oneself listening to disc one of "I'm A Man: The Chess Masters 1955 - 1958", witnessing previously unheard primal ooze from the very creation of rock 'n' roll, happy as a baby that, thanks to context and previously unheard and historically crucial material - including two alternate versions of 'Bo Diddley ' itself, each surprisingly different from the other AND from the final master we all know and love - it all absolutely sounds so new again, so urgent, and so pleasureable, not the least bit academic or 'interesting' in the way you might expect when you notice a boxed set by a major artist includes several previously ureleased alternate takes.

When it came to belting out R&B and Jump Blues, the men didn’t always have it their own way. As I’M A BAD, BAD GIRL proves, there were any number of raucous chanteuses ready, willing & able to make their presence felt. These women were strong, independent and sassy, and knew precisely what they wanted. Most of the time it was for their man to be either under their thumb, or atop their bed and they made no bones about it! This is predominantly rootin’, tootin’, bootin’ stuff, with the brass sounding, the horns wailing, and the guitarist getting just the occasional look-in. But to add shade to this comprehensive 3-CD set, there are cooler sides from singers like Betty Hall Jones, Ella Mae Morse and Myra Taylor, and Gospel, from Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Faye Adams. Every important Lady singer of the era is included, ranging from the well-known - e.g. Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ruth Brown, ‘Little’ Esther Phillips, LaVern Baker, Big Maybelle - to names familiar, perhaps, primarily to specialist collectors - e.g. Little Sylvia, Fluffy Hunter, Pearl Traylor, Tiny Davis, Zilla.

"I'm A Rebel" is the second album by German heavy metal band Accept, recorded in 1979 and released in 1980. It was the first of three consecutive Accept records to utilize Dirk Steffens as producer. The album finds Accept continuing to search for their musical direction, experimenting with a more commercial sound than on the debut.
