Novi may be the most beautiful kid vampire in the Vampire Kingdom but she is also the most brash and boastful. So when her spirited nature gets her into trouble with the King and Queen, she is punished by having her powerful magical bat wings taken away. In order to get them back and be restored to her full power, Novi must solve a series of mysteries for the Vampire Kingdom, each one more dire than the next. But Novi is not about to be bullied by anyone and with more than one trick up her sleeve, she sets out to beat the Vampire Kingdom at her their own game. Little Bite has been beautifully drawn and written by Bryan Golden, who has found the perfect marriage of outrageous comic book fun for adults and smirking, wide-eyed adventure for young readers new to comics.

It is becoming increasingly clear that in this second story arc of this series we are witnessing the foundation being laid for what is destined to be a classic. Writer Scott Snyder is serving notice that he is the brilliant star hovering over the dark and chilling world he and Stephen King have created, and he continues to deliver sustained, expertly crafted set pieces of consistently high quality. Artist Rafael Albuquerque, with his pencilwork and frightening imagery is the perfect match for Snyder and together they have taken the vampire genre as it has been defined by (if you really think about it) ridiculous forays into romance of recent years and refocused it into something transcendent. American Vampire is quickly developing into a favorite, after Image Comics' The Walking Dead and Chew. Another HQ Minutemen scan.

Writer Scott Snyder is showing that even without horror master Stephen King, he is capable of maintaining the high standards the first story arc has set in this second issue of the second story arc of this new ongoing about a new species of vampire. He sustains the interest after his focus shift and with the sort of interplay between his main characters, American Vampire has become a comic book that you cannot put down--nor pin down and second-guess. As with the first six issues, another HQ Minutemen scan.

's first 5-issue arc follows two stories: one written by Scott Snyder and one written by the master of horror himself, Stephen King, both with art by future superstar Rafael Albuquerque. Snyder's tale follows Pearl, a young woman living in 1920s Los Angeles, who is brutally turned into a vampire and sets out on a path of righteous revenge against the European monsters who tortured and abused her. And in King's story set in the days of America's Wild West, readers learn the origin of Skinner Sweet, the original American vampire – a stronger, faster creature than any vampire ever seen before. Stephen King it seems will no longer be around for the succeeding issues, with the series gaining popular acclaim and following, and firmly entrenched in the public mind as more than capably handled by Scott Snyder. Issue #6 departs from the dual-story issues that comprised the initial arc, the title shifts locations, the writer (Snyder) shifts characters, and the artist shifts his style. Set in Nevada in 1935, as The Great Depression has settled onto the United States, this issue swings over to Las Vegas. Set during the time that the Hoover Dam was being built, Snyder brings in some new characters and returns a few others. Another great ongoing from Vertigo that has Entertainment Weekly gushing, "At a time when vampire stories engulf pop culture, this one's actually fresh and original." All high-quality Minutemen scans.

They are old and thoroughly Hindu legends composed in Sanskrit, and are the germ which culminated in the Arabian Nights. The stories turn chiefly on a great king named Vikram, the King Arthur of the East. There is not a dull page found within and this work will please those who delight in the weird and supernatural, the grotesque and the wild life.

Vikram and The Vampire is a collection of tales and legends from India. It was originally written in Sanskrit. Like Arabian Nights, it is a set of tales, within a frame story. According to Isabel Burton, the Baital Pachisi "is the germ which culminated in the Arabian Nights, and which inspired the "Golden Ass" of Apuleius, Boccacio's "Decamerone," the "Pentamerone," and all that class of facetious fictitious literature.". The story revolves around the semi-legendary King Vikram, identified as Vikramaditya (c. 1st century BC). Vikram promises a tantric sorcerer (Vamachara) to bring him the Baital (or Vetala in Sanskrit), a huge vampire. Baital hangs on a tree and inhabits and animates dead bodies. Vikram faces many difficulties in bringing the Baital to the tantric.
