Tonto Rides Again is a rare treasure. It contains both of T.O.N.T.O.'s Expanding Head Band's albums in one package (and on one CD). And it rates as better than those albums because of the digital remastering and length. With liner notes by Mark Mothersbaugh, the inspirational leader of Devo, the entire package is just way too cool. Robert Margouleff and Malcolm Cecil were about 30 years ahead of their time when they started this project. This CD is still one of the all-time greatest albums ever. It is a rare and collectible classic and stands alone.

Flamborough Head are a veteran Northern Dutch neo-prog outfit that has had a solid yet still unremarkable career, even after 6 fine releases since 1998. They have finally arrived to the promised land with a delightful collection of masterful songs on 'Lost in Time', six extended neo/symphonic prog workouts given plenty of room for artful soloing, great tempo intervals and solid instrumental arrangements. The core of the band has remained the same since day one with keyboardist Edo Spanninga leading the orchestral frenzy, helped along by the stalwart rhythm section of fluid bassist Marcel Derix and drum basher Koen Roozen…

At the time, the transformation from R&B into hard rock and prog rock seemed seamless, swept along a current of subtly shifting styles, a view today cemented by hindsight into inevitability. But all one has to do is listen to bands that fell by the wayside to see that the end result was in no way insured, and that other paths beckoned, only to quickly become cul-de-sacs. Drummer Keef Hartley established his reputation upon joining British blues legends John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967, performing on four of their albums before his departure the following year.
