In the late 90s and early 2000s, the Traveling Wilburys albums had limited availability and were out of print in most territories. Harrison, as primary holder of the rights, did not reissue them prior to his 2001 death. In 2007, the both albums were reissued as the "The Traveling Wilburys Collection", the box set including both albums on CD (with bonus tracks) and the DVD featuring band documentary "The True History of the Traveling Wilburys" and a collection of music videos.

Nearly twenty years after the creation of the band, and over a decade since the music was last available to fans, the music of The Traveling Wilburys is reissued in this collection. The previously released albums Traveling Wilburys Volume 1 and Traveling Wilburys Volume 3 feature inarguably some of music’s greatest singer-songwriters – George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan – as the iconic band The Traveling Wilburys.

Singles and Rarities. Unreleased Tracks. Reversing the usual process by which groups break up and give way to solo careers, the Traveling Wilburys are a group made up of solo stars. The group was organized by former Beatle George Harrison, former Electric Light Orchestra leader Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison, thus representing three generations of rock stars. In 1988, the five (who had known each other for years) came together to record a Harrison B-side single and ended up writing and recording an album on which they shared lead vocals.
