Here is, now, « The years with Popa Chubby », including the best of its past ten years from the first recordings (The First Cuts) to the latest limited live series (Wild). A vitamin packed collection of 16 re-mastered recordings that have pleased fans since the day they’ve discovered the King of the New York City Blues.
A compilation of three separate projects by Popa Chubby, which were released on his own currently out of print label. They were never widely available to the public. States Popa himself, "This is a collection of my early work from the hungry years. From the bowels of Greenwich Village to the Upper East Side, New York from 1991 to 1996 was my very own Rotten Apple!" Includes three previously unreleased tracks.
The one and only Popa Chubby, the big man of the blues, celebrates the 25th anniversary of his career this year, 1989 being the bull’s eye when the blues-rock guitarist blew like a hurricane across the tepid New York City blues scene with his own individual brand of blues, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll. True to form, Chubby is honoring the quarter-century mark of his career with a brand new album, I’m Feelin’ Lucky, which will be released on October 14th, 2014 by Cleopatra Records.
Coming off his two-volume tribute to Jimi Hendrix, Electric Chubbyland, Popa Chubby is still high on rock & roll. While his love of the blues remains strong and dominates a handful of the tracks here, Deliveries After Dark features more heavy metal thunder and hard rocking than usual. The furious "Sally Likes to Run" captures that arena rock feel with enough cowbell to keep Christopher Walken happy while the title track crunches like Deep Purple in "Highway Star" mode….
Big, Bad and Beautiful - this recorded in the spring of live double album summarizes what Popa Chubby has achieved in the past decade. For ten long years, it is already here that Popa Chubby released a live album. This double live album includes hits from Popa of 'Booty and the Beast' to his anniversary CD 'I'm Feelin' Lucky '. The 27-song live work of Chubbfatha was in March 2015 recorded in France during his' I'm Feelin 'Lucky' tour on which he was accompanied by a great team: Dave Keyes (Keyboard), Francesco Beccaro (bass) and Andrea Beccaro (drums). As a special treat, there is an impromptu mini-set of the band with some Rolling Stones classics. A definitive live release of 55s guitar heroes from NYC!
