This is a compilation of Nik Kershaw's best songs. Having been underrated as both a songwriter and performer, these songs give a nice overview of the various hits he's had and the variety of styles in which Nik kershaw can be recognised. Who doesn't remember megahits like "I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", "Wouldn't It Be Good", and "The Riddle" in their orginal setting? To your surmprise, you may find there's a lot more great Nik Kershaw songs, each of them as original and well produced as all of these near powerpop megasellers. Nik Kershaw been one of the finest songwriters and best producers of powerpop material since the middle eighties. Elton John described Kershaw as "the best songwriter of a generation". In 2015 Rick Wakeman compared Kershaw's songwriting ability to David Bowie saying "I don't know anyone else who writes songs like that.", referring to Kershaw's unexpected but clever chord changes…

More comprehensive than the U.S. Anthology, the British Best of Nick Kershaw covers Kershaw's career from the beginning. Where it fails however, is in its exclusion of the single versions of some of the hits (including "Wouldn't It Be Good") in favor of 12" remixes.

A great album for those of you who are still locked in the 80s scene. You may think Nik Kershaw only had a couple of hits but this album proves that this is not the case with hits such as Wouldn't It Be Good, The Riddle, Don Quixote and I Won't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (my favourite). If you're feeling nostalgic and reminiscing about dancing at the local disco wearing leg warmers and lots of eyeliner then this is a great album.
