KISS embarked on the Dynasty Tour, which encompassed the entire second half of 1979. Their most ambitious and expensive shows to date, thisjaunt saw a plethora of new costumes, new effects, and most of all new, outrageous stage antics, which included Ace Frehley’s rocket-shootingguitar and the debut of Gene Simmons’ now staple ‘God of Thunder’ flying routine. Despite this, the tour was not a smooth affair, with five of the 82shows having to be cancelled due to poor tickets sales, while others were downgraded to smaller arenas. It would also be the last KISS tour tofeature the original line up until their reunion in 1996, as drummer Peter Criss, who had only featured on one song from Dynasty following a seriouscar accident, was fired in May 1980.The recording featured here - taken from a live radio broadcast recorded at the Selland Arena in Fresno, California on 27th November 1979

Love Gun is notable for being the first Kiss album to feature a lead vocal performance from Ace Frehley. This marks the first album for the group to feature lead vocal performances from all four band members. It was also the last studio album to feature the entire original lineup of Kiss on every track, as drummer Peter Criss was replaced by session drummer Anton Fig for much of 1979's Dynasty.

The publication in 1951 of Robert Hans van Gulik’s Erotic Colour Prints of the Ming Period created a stir in the Chinese art community. It was privately published in only fifty copies, which were sent as gifts to selected libraries and museums worldwide. (A list of those outside the Far East is Appendix II to the same author’s Sexual Life in Ancient China.) The copies were accompanied by a letter advising that in order to keep away “sensation-seekers and peeping Toms,” the books were to be made accessible only to “a limited number of serious scholars in the field, for purposes of research.”
