The ConstruKction Of Light is the twelfth studio album by English band King Crimson, released in May 2000 by record label Virgin. It has the distinction of being the first studio album to be released by King Crimson without two longtime members (the first without drummer Bill Bruford who debuted with the band for 1973's Larks' Tongues in Aspic and without bassist Tony Levin who joined in 1981). The departure of these stalwarts brought an end to the "double trio" era of the band and their return to a quartet: Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto. Fripp was now not only the last remaining member from any lineup prior to 1981 but the only Englishman left as well.

Whichever way you look at this is a significant show: the last time King Crimson played anywhere in mainland Europe. As such there’s a certain end-of-term aspect here - a rushing Dinosaur, a final flush in the cheeks of Red as it hits the finishing line. Humour plays its part as well when Belew quips to quell the photographers before a dazzling ConstruKction of Light.

“A good, supportive audience. . .had a good hearted group to play to them. But, as far as we could tell, probably not our best performance” said Robert at the time. But what does he know eh? He’s just the guitar player after all. Several tracks from this gig would later turn up on the triple live album, Heavy ConstruKction but this is first time the whole kit and caboodle has been officially available. Having been forced to use a borrowed PA Trey observes that the opening sound felt limp and wimpy. The band compensated by playing some of the tunes faster. “I felt myself rushing ahead of the beat with every bar. . .

The Massey Hall King Crimson show is one of the most well known and well documented. Live In Toronto is the latest Club silver pressed release which has the complete soundboard recording from that night for the first time. Live In Toronto is truly an important archive release by King Crimson. They’ve mostly been going down the download route, posting their tapes online and not bothering with silver releases. But this one, despite the sub par show, certainly is interesting enough for a Collector’s Club release. This is available from the DGM website for a reasonable price, definitely worth having.

Beginning with the surprise manifestation of Crims Past, this is P3 being musically inquisitive to the point of hyperactivity; no musical stone is left unturned as they dig deep and delve into their power trio selves. And what power! Gunn and Fripp pass the baton back and forth like a group of frantic relay racers especially on Heavy ConstruKction, and the subtle space-funk coming out of the soundscape and into Masque 8 gets the neck hair standing to attention.

The limited-edition, three-disc live set Heavy ConstruKction was recorded at various points throughout that tour, and was intended to set the stage for the band's arrival in the U.S. that fall. The first two discs include a full set list encompassing both old and new Crimson compositions, and the second disc also features a bonus CD-ROM performance video. The third disc culls 14 of the group's best improvisations from the tour.

"In the Court of the Crimson King" is the 1969 debut album by the British progressive rock group King Crimson. The album reached #5 on the British charts, and is certified gold in the United States.
The album is generally viewed as one of the strongest of the progressive rock genre, where King Crimson largely stripped away the blues-based foundations of rock music and mixed together jazz and Classical symphonic elements. In his 1997 book "Rocking the Classics", critic and musicologist Edward Macan notes that "In the Court of the Crimson King" "may be the most influential progressive rock album ever released".

ProjeKct X was a side project of the music band King Crimson. In 2000, while the band King Crimson recorded their album "The ConstruKction of Light", the four members of this line-up also recorded the album "Heaven and Earth" as ProjeKct X. The line-up consisted of Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Trey Gunn, and Pat Mastelotto. This continued the tradition of ProjeKcts One, Two, Three, and Four (sub-groups into which King Crimson 'fraKctalised' from 1997 to 1999).
