The Fall of the House of Credit (repost)

The Fall of the House of Credit: What Went Wrong in Banking and What Can Be Done to Repair the Damage? by Alistair Milne
English | July 31, 2009 | ISBN: 0521762146 | 382 Pages | PDF | 2 MB

How was it possible for problems in one relatively small sector in the global financial system - the American sub-prime mortgage market - to lead to the most serious economic crisis in living memory? In this book, Alistair Milne untangles the complex world of modern banking and examines solutions to the crisis. He shows how the banks misused their ability to securitize loans and, by borrowing short and lending long, exposed themselves to exceptional risks when asset prices started to fall.

At the onset of the Great Recession, as house prices sank and joblessness soared, many commentators concluded that the economic convictions behind the disaster would now be consigned to history. Yet in the harsh light of a new day, attacks against government intervention and the global drive for austerity are as strong as ever.

Financial Alchemy in Crisis: The Great Liquidity Illusion by Anastasia Nesvetailova
English | ISBN 10: 0745328776 | 2010 | PDF | 144 pages | 1,7 MB

In July 2007, the combination of a seemingly unstoppable rise in house prices and bullish banks swimming in liquidity meant that almost anyone could get a mortgage in the UK or US. Little more than a month later the supply of credit dried up practically overnight, leaving the world wondering how bank liquidity could suddenly vanish.

Time Crisis II
Developer: Namco Bandai Games | Windows | 25,11 mb

Time Crisis is a first person rail shooter similar to Virtua Cop and The House of the Dead, in which the player holds a light gun and goes through the motions of firing at on-screen enemies. Unique to the arcade original was the presence of a foot pedal, which is released to cause the player's avatar to duck behind cover, as well as reload their weapon.
However, the player can only shoot while the pedal is depressed, and their avatar vulnerable to enemy fire. (The pedal was replaced with standard buttons for non-arcade releases.) Finally, the game takes its name from a countdown clock, recharged by clearing an area of "bad guys." As running down the clock causes an instant game over, the player must take risks, shooting enemies rapidly and hiding only when necessary.
